NOMADICA BRAND REVIEW
Designed in New Orleans, USA and made in Bangalore and Andhra Pradesh, we love Passion Lilie's fresh take on the vintage block print design. Passion Lilie is committed to fair trade and works directly with factories who ensure safe working conditions, health care programs are available for their staff, and all block printed designs use natural eco-dyes (plant and vegetable based), which reduces waste and water in the production process.
Passion Lilie is dedicated to preserving the environment through the use of eco (plant or vegetable based) dyes and energy, waste and water reduction in the production process. Fabrics are washed by hand in the local waterways and dried in the sun and leftover scraps are used for accessories and handicrafts.
All of Passion Lilie's apparel production is done in Bangalore by a fair trade certified organization that employs about 10-15 women from low-income communities. These women receive free on the job training, an above average salary, 24 days of sick leave and 11 government paid holidays, assistance in obtaining health insurance and financial advising.
Most of Passion Lilie’s block prints are produced at a block printing studio in Bangalore that is surrounded by trees and a lovely lake that truly inspires creativity. This block printing unit started in 1977 with a mission to preserve block printing in a holistic environment, with ethical labour practices and eco-friendly dyes.
