Jade Yoga

JadeYoga, a family run business, began in earnest in 2000 after they learned of the fundamental problem with most yoga mats on the market at that time - they were slippery. They were already making natural rubber rug pads, so they approached the problem from that angle and developed Harmony, the first natural rubber yoga mat.

Nomadica Brand Review

Jade Yoga does yoga mats right. Not only have they developed a superior product - one that is non-slip, yet light and durable - they use rubber trees to produce their mats, as opposed to synthetic rubbers, and plant a tree for every mat sold. Through this program they've planted over 1 million trees. Jade Yoga also produces every mat in the USA to ensure quality and compliance with US environmental, consumer, and worker protection laws across their entire line.

Sustainability

Ran by a former lawyer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, there is no question that making eco-friendly yoga products is Jade Yoga's number one priority.   Made right, natural rubber is both the most eco-friendly and best performing yoga mat you can get. They are also committed to giving back to the earth with every product sold. As Jade mats come from trees, they decided to give back by planting a tree for every mat sold. And since 2006, through their partnership with Trees for the Future, they have done just that, planting over One Million trees so far.

Social Responsibility

All Jade mats are made in the United States. Given the many new stories they heard about tainted products coming out of China (where almost all other yoga mats are made) as well as working conditions there, this was not a hard decision.   With U.S. based production, they can be sure of what is going into their mats – as well as how workers are treated. “American made” means they can be assured of compliance with US environmental laws, US consumer safety laws, US worker safety and US wage and hour laws.
